From Lotusphere in Orlando, Florida, comes news of the integration of Avaya telephony products into IBM’s Lotus suite. According to a release from Avaya, Lotus users can now easily access and manage Avaya’s calling and conferencing capabilities right from the Lotus desktop. Apparently, it’s as easy as checking your colleague’s availability for calls on your screen, clicking, and sending the call. With Avaya in Lotus, you can also elevate an IM conversation to a phone call, or add your colleague to an existing phone conference.
Sounds like these and other advances from Avaya are making that product even more attractive to enterprise business, especially those using IBM’s Lotus desktop suite of products.
